Revenue support in the form of PFI credits has been relatively limited to date, with only a limited number of projects supported in this way. We have however advised on several pathfinder projects in this area, including an award-winning PFI project for the provision of a new central library for Brighton & Hove City Council.
We have acted for local authorities and service providers on successful transfers of existing leisure facilities to private sector operators, often combining operating and concession contracts with high value new build solutions. We have been instrumental in finding practical solutions to problems such as rights of way, restrictive covenants affecting land use, and the ability to secure fiscal benefits from business rates relief or charitable status.
