Not-for-Profit Trusts
Not-for-profit structures are increasingly seen as an attractive model since they
provide a single focus vehicle for the development of leisure and cultural activities
away from wider corporate distractions and offer the ability to incentivise employees.
If structured correctly, they can also offer fiscal benefits through savings in
business rates, VAT and stamp duty. We have acted on the establishment of leisure
trusts for local authority leisure services, and provided a wide range of advice
on the advantages and disadvantages of different models of provision and the regulatory
issues involved.
