BSF - East Meets West
On 3 February Graham Burns (Director) and Tarmina Dent (Solicitor) together with
Simon Lucas of EC Harris met with a delegation from China, who were visiting the
UK with the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to discuss trade relations and sharing
their Olympic experiences. The purpose of the meeting hosted by the London Development
Agency was to explain the £45billion Building Schools for the Future programme to
discuss the opportunities that this national programme could have for
Chinese businesses.
The meeting involved a short presentation by TPP Law and EC Harris on what Building
Schools for the Future involved. There was a great deal of interest from the delegation
into the role of the private sector in the national programme and the
opportunities available. Further meetings are planned to develop the relationship
and discuss the partnering aspects of the programme in
more detail.
